I was rejected

I've been meaning to write something about rejection for some weeks now but everytime I connect to the Internet I'll go directly to FB and Twitter and forget all about Blogger. (Woah my blog can relate to me man!)

Anyways I was reading Sasha's post which is similarly like mine so I figured might as well write it. It may be useful reading material for me 30 years from now hah!

On a side note, this involves family members and this post is far from bashing you guys. Besides, it happened 12 years ago so even if I had grudges .. okay no grudges cuz I just dismissed it as kid teenager crap.

Okay story time.

I was 11 when we moved to a new place (in fact we moved on 31 Aug!) and dad decided to have a housewarming on my birthday slash Christmas (see? triple celebration!) So relatives, friends, people I don't know were invited. Because I was the youngest grandkid of all, I usually hung out with my mom, Aunt Ruby or some older cousins of mine.

The three cousins closest to my age were teens at that time so naturally I wasn't close with them (in my version, kids + teenagers = no way, they do not mix with each other). Heck I was a teenager once and I thought kids are brats. Still do now, lol.

So the three were upstairs in the guest room playing Jenga (the wooden version of Uno Stacko). And I was in my room layan-ing (minding my own business) myself when Aunt Molly came up and asked why I didn't join my other 3 cousins.

Its okay lah, I said.

But then she dragged me to the guest room and kinda made my 3 cousins play with me. I don't wanna guess how they were feeling that very second, but I was embarrassed like sial. I haven't learned shit, crap and wtf so embarrassed was the only word I could come up with. It feels like I'm ruining their playdate or something. For a moment no one said anything, but then one of them invited me to play, and I was like

Its okay, I'll just watch you play, I said.

So they continued on playing and after a while I beh tahan (cannot stand) already from not being in the same clique as them I excused myself and left.

Like Sasha said, different channels.

But hey, that was years ago and I'm closer to one of them now. And since I grew up an only child I kinda got used to being alone but yeah lah sometimes I hate being alone. But whip up the Internet and Astro for me I'd pay you to not talk to me haha

Just because

Travelled by train to West Kirby, a lil idyllic town at the edge of the Wirral Peninsula with Fei Lin and Farah. Couldn't resist to take this pic of a lil guy and his dog by the Marine Lake.

Went to a nearby hill to watch a meteor shower. My cam couldn't capture the meteors so here is downtown Liverpool at night.

One of the final days in Liverpool. Mess. Late night. Paperwork.

Something nice

Dinner with tablemates (I share the same table with them in classes) =) Nicest people you could ever know.

Houses on the way to church, and a guy driving by.

Taken at Albert Dock late in the evening.

The type of houses and residences you picture when reading Enid Blyton's books. Taken at Grasmere Village on the way up to Easedale Tarn.

Dog at Easedale Tarn. It's a lake situated at the top of the hills.

A Herdwick sheep during our trek up the hill.

Downtown Liverpool from Albert Dock.

Yard at John Foster building. Gives me a university feel. It's been more than a year since this pic was taken, and it's nice to look back at it once in a while =)

What for I curse you lah?

I don’t think I ever had a week plagued with bad luck until this week.

First, I was bitten by a bug. I do not know how it appeared in the car and ended up running around my ankles. My leg got kinda ticklish so I selamba scratched it.

Then I felt a sharp sting, kinda like what the victims in the Discovery Channel series, I Was Bitten, went through. The culprit left a tiny red swelling dot on my leg, before injecting its venom stinging me 2 more times. For a second I thought I was bitten by a black widow spider and I pictured myself going into anaphylactic shock or something, and I’m gonna die lol.

But it was just a bug that probably thought it was threatened and defended itself. Friggin right it should be threatened, if it appears again it’ll be smashed into pulp =)

The red dots are still visible, crap.

Second curse involved taking a wrong turn and getting lost trying to find a way out.

I totally wasn’t paying attention and went on the route that led me to Putrajaya, and getting back on the right track is to drive one big round around the town. I had to get back to Bukit Jalil, so I preferred the road that would pass through Equine, Sri Kembangan and Serdang Raya.

Then I spotted a signboard with “Serdang” on it, so I figured I’ll just go on it secretly hoping it won’t take me on the SKVE highway.

Too bad it did.

So I took the next left turn (into the Serdang hospital) which will hopefully get me on the opposite side of the highway and retrace my way back. But nooooo ... it didn’t happen that way. Then I turned into UPM, which didn’t look right. Finally I spotted a signboard “Sri Serdang”. Relief. Phew.

Wait, which way to turn into Sri Kembangan? I reached a roundabout, and blindly took the left road which, you guessed it, made me drive one huge circle around the housing area. Serdang so big wan meh? Wasting valuable fuel ... now 50 bucks isn’t even full tank. Shiatz.

Long story short, I reached the roundabout again and took a right turn this time because there was traffic jam straight ahead and managed to get back on the right road.

Crap #3 happened 11 hours later. I just got up and went to switch the light on. In the dark I didn’t see the floor mat, so I slipped and fell lah. Tried to get up again, but slipped one more time. Dang! Left leg got 3 red dots and right leg got one big bruise. Super.

I took a pic of it and from a certain angle, the swelled part looks like a boob.
