Sept 9 09

This is Venice, Italy! Or Venezia in Italian. I could name my kid that. You should already know by now Venice is made up from several islands, and to get to it, you'll have to ride the boat from the mainland. There are no cars in Venice, for real! Just bikes, water taxis, water buses and gondolas.

Fresh out from our boat. Place was crowded as usual (woah as if I visit it everyday).

We had to ride the gondola duh! It was kinda expensive (22 euros if I wasn't mistaken) and I was kinda reluctant at first (see? come to Europe but still so stingy). Some local guys waved at us and we waved back and took pics lol.

Living by the riverside, something you don't see often at home.

Even the ambulance is in a shape of a boat taken at some random canal with tourists/locals and gondolas.

Almost all of Venice are dominated by similar narrow footpaths and when the street names are in Italian you can really get lost.

Lunch was squid spaghetti, and the color doesn't do any justice to the food! It took us a while to dig in because after one of us takes a bite we would spend the next 3 mins laughing at each other's black colored lips.

A proof to show that I was really there and the pics are not taken from Flickr or anywhere in the virtual world.

How weird it must be when you wake up in the morning, you open the door and all you see is a canal right at your doorstep. Can't help but to wonder if one takes a wrong step and plunges into it cuz the waters in Venice are pretty deep.

Decorated gondolas. You can even get married in one.

Reminding me of Bruno.

Rialto Bridge. Super packed.

View of the Grand Canal from the Rialto Bridge.

Purchasing Venetian masks. I could see myself buying one but what am I gonna do with it once I get it back home?

Whoa. 499 euros. Let me strike 4D and I'll return to Venice and get it.
